U.S.–Syria Business Sponsors First-Ever Syria Pavilion at GITEX 2025, Showcasing Syrian Innovation and Strengthening U.S.-Syria Tech Engagement

October 12, 2025 — Dubai, U.A.E. — The U.S.–Syria Business Council (USSYBC) proudly announces its sponsorship of the first-ever Syria Pavilion at GITEX 2025, marking a pivotal step in Syria’s reemergence on the international technology stage. Powered by SYNC and supported by Build Up, TacTech, and the U.S.–Syria Business Council, the Syria Pavilion highlights a collaborative effort to showcase Syrian innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital capability to a global audience. GITEX is one of the world’s largest and most influential tech events, bringing together innovators, developers, investors, and government officials to showcase new technologies, discuss digital transformation, and form partnerships.

USSYBC’s sponsorship and participation at the first Syria Pavilion reflects its mission to rebuild bridges between Syria and the global economy—with a particular focus on sectors where U.S. expertise and investment can accelerate progress. As Syria modernizes its telecommunications, software, and digital infrastructure, the Council is working to connect U.S. firms with emerging opportunities, link Syrian talent with international partners, and support a more transparent and enabling business environment.

“Our role at GITEX goes beyond visibility—it’s about renewal,” said Issam Ghreiwati, Board Member of the Council and President of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce. “Syria’s most valuable resource has always been its people. By sponsoring the first-ever Syria Pavilion, we are shining a light on Syrian innovators and tech startups, and creating a bridge for them to rejoin the global conversation in technology and entrepreneurship. We also hope American firms will engage and leverage their passion, skills, and innovation.”

Through its partnership with SYNC, Build Up, and TacTech, the Council is helping Syrian companies gain international exposure and access to resources, training, and technology transfer. This aligns with USSYBC’s broader mission to foster bilateral engagement, guide companies on both sides, and expand their access to markets and networks.

USSYBC representatives were honored to welcome H.E. Eng. Abdul Salam Haykal, Syrian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of Dubai to the Syria Pavilion. Both leaders underscored their shared commitment to innovation, the region’s growing tech potential, and Syria’s renewed focus on digital transformation.

Their participation at GITEX signals Syria’s openness to global collaboration and commitment to technology as a cornerstone of economic revitalization. The USSYBC remains dedicated to linking businesses with opportunities and stakeholders to drive Syria’s digital future—while strengthening U.S. competitiveness and regional engagement.
